Cooperation between High School no. 16 in Kraków and Ha-Rishonim High School in Herzliya began in 2008. Every year since then, the high school in Kraków has hosted students from Ha-Rishonim High School during their educational trips to Poland. These one-day meetings are a great opportunity for Polish students and teachers and members of Israeli delegations to get to know each other, fight stereotypes, and, of course, have a good time together. Each meeting had at least 200 participants—students, teachers, and guides—from both countries, all of whom took part in ice-breaking activities and educational workshops. In 2010, the first group of Polish students from High School no.16 in Kraków visited their partner school in Herzliya. This project is, then, a continuation and a creative development of this cooperation.
From the beginning, cooperation between the two schools has been fostered by the Galicia Jewish Museum. The Museum provides consultancy, educators who lead workshops for Polish-Israeli groups, and technical support, as well as financial aid, thanks to grants and subsidies from the Polish Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wingate Foundation, and Ministry of Education.
